A copper lining is used within the vacuum insulation to maximise temperature maintenance. You can't actually see the copper lining because it is inserted in the gas-tight vacuum between the inner and outer layers of stainless steel. The result is a superior construction which keeps drinks hot or cold for long periods, regardless of outside temperatures.
